The Cherokee Sundial Pitcher is made of stoneware. It measures 6 1/2 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches across the top. The Cherokee would have used hand made pitchers to bring water back to their homes.
In the Southeast Region of the United States the Cherokee Nation of Native Americans are predominate. Their pottery, which served in their daily lives, is truly their best written history. With little or no written records, Cherokee pottery served as their legacy. It holds spiritual connections, tribal customs and the ways of the lives of many of our own ancestors. Artisans are the original keepers of history.
